You can count on me to not study when I ought to be.... *sigh* I wasn't like this during my freshman year.... wah! Senioritis all over again. haha.

So, today I was next door eating yummy desserts and such at the neighbors' and we all got into talking about the recent conviction of George Weller, the 89 year-old man who killed 10 people and injured 68 3 years ago at the Santa Monica Farmer's Market. I made a comment during the course of our "discussion" that I pondered about all day today - "I don't think justice is always black and white." When I thought about it the rest of the day, I don't know if I necessarily agree with my statement anymore. I do agree that ultimately there is always a right or wrong solution (but whether or not we can see that clearly as humans is clearly a different story), but our legal system and simply the way that individuals distort the truth often result in a less than satisfactory way of handling complex situations such as this one. In addition, where does the component of mercy play a role?? Honestly, I have no good answer. Just something I have been thinking about. Justice implies that both parties (or in the case of mulitple parties, ALL parties) receive that which is fair. But justice in this world is delivered by man, who is impartial, biased, and oftentimes can even be manipulated and misled. What a complex concept to ponder. But I know that at least I serve the God of justice; I pray that if I do continue to walk in the direction of law, He would reveal to me where I fit in - in terms of delivering His justice to this world.

I ate dinner with Jon Liao today who was visiting from NorCal. He complained that I don't ever update this thing with my crazy dogmatic political idelogies. Unfortunately, I don't know what he's talking about. And I suppose I'm not like him, with his weird blog entries about how he wants to spoil his future daughter so she can wind up with a rich husband who will buy her a yacht to give to her father..... It was good to see him though and eat lots of yummy food and watch waiters/waitresses all dressed up walk around.

Okay, Jon. I updated. Happy?

Haha. Maybe more interesting things next time. Back to studying for my midterm now!

This made my day. I received pre-paid envelopes to recycle empty ink cartridges today! SO if you have old ink cartridges, please DO NOT THROW THEM IN THE TRASH CAN. I will gladly give you an envelope (I have 98 left!) so that you can take part in keeping the beautiful world God created CLEAN.
